Dr. Michelle Curtis

Dr. Michelle Curtis is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Utah, where she holds positions as the Anesthesiology Associate Program Director and the Associate Director of the Center for Patient Simulation. She completed her undergraduate degree at Utah State University and medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine. She completed her Residency in Anesthesiology and Fellowship in Perioperative Echocardiography at the University of Utah. Dr. Curtis joined department of Anesthesiology at the University of Utah in 2011 and has focused on medical student, resident, and fellow education. She has been involved with resident education, as an Assistant Program Director in charge of resident didactic curriculum. She also served as the Anesthesiology Medical Student Clerkship Director. She serves on the Perioperative Echo Service teaching both POCUS and advanced echo skills. Dr. Curtis particularly enjoys teaching in the patient simulator and has spent several years teaching Safe Sedation Training. She has recently accepted the position of Associated Director of the Center for Patient Simulation. When she is not at work, she loves spending time with her husband and 2 children, travelling and skiing.
